PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: REVIVE US AGAIN! 2 Chronicles 7:14 REVIVE US AGAIN! 2 Chronicles 7:14 – Devotional 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. “ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Back in the 70’s, I was an associate pastor of a large church. One Sunday, just before the service an elderly lady collapsed in the aisle near the rear of the church. I was just entering and observed one of our members, a medical doctor, doing chest compressions on the little lady. When he saw me, he immediately called me over and told me to take over while he checked her for vital signs. It was the first and only time I have ever felt my hands repeatedly crush down on a person’s chest to keep the heart pumping blood throughout the body. It is an awesome and fearful experience. (By-the-way, the la

PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE! Luke 12:18-19 LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE! Luke 12:18-19 – Devotional Luke 12:18-19 “ So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods.   And I will say to my soul,   “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease;   eat, drink,  and  be merry.” ’ “ Since I have astigmatism that can only be corrected with glasses, I have had to wear them most of my life (a long, long time). Over the years I have heard people talk about being near sighted and even once worked for a near-sighted Probate Court Judge (his vision was great while reading or seeing anything close up). He was telling a group of us about being fitted for glasses when he was in his 20’s–it was almost a shock to his senses that he could actually read house numbers from the street! He had no idea that this was what people with normal eyesight were able to see. Isn’t it tragic

PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: WALKING IN VICTORY! Matthew 28:17-20 WALKING IN VICTORY! Matthew 28:17-20 – Devotional Matthew 28:17-20 “When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. “ In high school I played on the football team, and in my senior year we were very successful—UNDEFEATED, IN FACT. I recall coming home after practice so tired an sore that I could hardly move. All of the hours of exercise and practice, however, resulted in each victory we achieved. It was rather humorous to hear the shouts of victory from the sidelines, “WE WON! WE WON!” our supporters had not experienced the pain we endured, but they share

PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: “GOD’S CONDITIONAL CLAUSE!” 2 Chronicles 7:14 GOD’S CONDITIONAL CLAUSE! 2 Chronicles 7:14 – Devotional 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. “ Over the years I have stood before interview boards that were in the process of interviewing me for a particular position or promotion. They were the ones who were placing before me the conditions that were to be expected. I was the one who would be expected to comply. Many times we read about those individuals who have a “foxhole commitment.” They try to place conditions on the Lord, promising to follow Him  IF  He will get them out of their current predicament. (That “commitment” is not always restricted to wartime battle conditions. We are prone to pray that type of prayer in all sorts of situations.) We see that

PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: “THE DAFFODIL PRINCIPLE!” Psalm 126:5-6 THE DAFFODIL PRINCIPLE! Psalm 126:5-6 – Devotional Psalm 126:5-6 “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. “ Many years ago I sent out a Daily-E-Votional highlighting the Daffodil Principle. Since then there have been requests to repeat it, which I will do today, but leaving out a great deal of the back story that led up to it. One day a woman came upon a magnificent field of daffodils of every shape, size, and color. The beauty of it was breathtaking and almost too hard for her to take in. There was a small house nearby and next to the house was a poster that read: Answers to the Questions I Know you are asking. 50,000 bulbs, one at a time, by one woman. Two hands, two feet, and very little brain. Began in 1958. After the experience of witnessing such a sight, the woman
