PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: “GOD’S CONDITIONAL CLAUSE!” 2 Chronicles 7:14 GOD’S CONDITIONAL CLAUSE! 2 Chronicles 7:14 – Devotional 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. “ Over the years I have stood before interview boards that were in the process of interviewing me for a particular position or promotion. They were the ones who were placing before me the conditions that were to be expected. I was the one who would be expected to comply. Many times we read about those individuals who have a “foxhole commitment.” They try to place conditions on the Lord, promising to follow Him  IF  He will get them out of their current predicament. (That “commitment” is not always restricted to wartime battle conditions. We are prone to pray that type of prayer in all sorts of situations.) We see that

PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: “THE DAFFODIL PRINCIPLE!” Psalm 126:5-6 THE DAFFODIL PRINCIPLE! Psalm 126:5-6 – Devotional Psalm 126:5-6 “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. “ Many years ago I sent out a Daily-E-Votional highlighting the Daffodil Principle. Since then there have been requests to repeat it, which I will do today, but leaving out a great deal of the back story that led up to it. One day a woman came upon a magnificent field of daffodils of every shape, size, and color. The beauty of it was breathtaking and almost too hard for her to take in. There was a small house nearby and next to the house was a poster that read: Answers to the Questions I Know you are asking. 50,000 bulbs, one at a time, by one woman. Two hands, two feet, and very little brain. Began in 1958. After the experience of witnessing such a sight, the woman

PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: “DOING OUR BEST!” Psalm 19:14 DOING OUR BEST! Psalm 19:14 – Devotional Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. “ As I reflect back on my boyhood days, I feel blessed for the time I spent as a Boy Scout. The values and qualities that we were taught have played a vital part of the person I have become. As I was thinking about the Boy Scout Oath we took at the beginning of each meeting, I only wish that each Scout lived up to the oath. “On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help others at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.” Truly honorable people recognize a duty to God. It is not that God owes us, but much more that we owe Him our best. If Jesus gave His life for us, we need to commit ourselves to serve Him with the best we have. We are a

PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: “IN THE WRONG PLACE!” Numbers 31:8b IN THE WRONG PLACE! Numbers 31:8b – Devotional Numbers 31:8b “They also killed with the sword Balaam the son of Beor. “ As the children of Israel possessed the land promised them by the Lord, various kings were killed. Along with the many Kings mentioned is the name of a man named Balaam. Do you remember him? Balaam was hired by Balak to curse Israel. God took control of his tongue and instead of cursing Israel he blessed them. Balak was so angry that he refused to pay Balaam, so Balaam said he was returning to his own country, which by the way was several hundred miles away. So what was Balaam doing back here in Moab? I think we see that this renegade prophet had compromised and sold himself out. In Revelation 2:14 the Lord says this to the church at Pergamos; “But I have a few things against you, because you hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children

PASTOR CECIL · Pastor Cecil's Devotional: “CHOOSE GOD’S WAY!” Joshua 24:15 CHOOSE GOD’S WAY! Joshua 24:15 – Devotional Joshua 24:15 “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. “ When we go to an eating establishment we are faced with many appealing choices. We may know that whatever we chose will be delicious, but would it be good for us? Ah! That’s a different story isn’t it? From time to time we all are called upon to make choices. As a matter of fact, we are faced with choices each and every day. Some of these choices are relatively insignificant (such as what to order off a restaurant menu), while others could be life changing. The Israelites had seen the powerful hand of the Lord as He led them from their bondage in Egypt to go an
