WARRIORS NOT WORRIERS!
James 1:5 – Devotional
James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”
I recall receiving an e-mail requesting prayer for a “prayer worrier.” I am sure the writer meant “prayer warrior,” but this person did what I have done so many times—misspelled a word and thus changed the meaning.
I have been thinking about the difference between worrier and warrior. The dictionary defines a warrior as a person who is actively engaged or is experience in battle. That sounds like someone I would like to have on my side!
On the other hand a worrier always thinks or stews over about all of the bad things that possibly might happen. Whoops! That is certainly is not the person I would feel confident to have in my corner as a prayer partner.
In James 1:6 we find the description of a worrier: “For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” I don’t know about you, but do not want to have a prayer worrier at my side. I want a prayer warrior who will stand fast in the battle against the enemies of the cross.
Blessings dear hearts walk with God today and become a blessing!
