For the true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we can visualize ourselves as being HOMELESS. That is certainly true when we pause to consider that our time in this world is temporary at best. John 14:25 – Devotional John 14:25 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. “ In 1938, prior to the outbreak of WWII, Lord Sir Neville Chamberlain returned from Germany with a peace compact that was signed by Adolph Hitler. He waved the document and proclaimed, “Peace in our time!” We now know how false that peace really was. Even today there is a peace that is anything but peaceful. I am told that in the midst of major battles a cease fire is ordered in which both sides stop hostilities for a certain period of time. It may be temporarily quiet, but it is not TRUE PEACE. Matthew 24:27 – Devotional Matthew 24:27 “For as the lighting comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. “ During the night we had a brief atmospheric disturbance. That is a fancy way of saying that there was a small thunder and lightning storm. Actually it is more correct to say we had a lightning and thunder storm. During my years serving in the United States Air Force I was posted to areas of the country that were prone to severe weather. As a family we decided that rather than being afraid of the storms, we would enjoy them! When lightning flashed and thunder rolled, the popcorn would pop and we would huddle together on the living room sofa and cheer for the spectacular fireworks that were on display.
