“PURPOSE!”
Ecclesiastes 3:1
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”

Throughout the years of my ministry I have had the privilege to officiate at hundreds of funerals. At the graveside service I have often quoted the intriguing passage of Scripture from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. This passage gives a vivid description of the various situations (or seasons) of life such as being born and dying, weeping and laughing, and even war and peace, but it begins with the statement that there ispurpose in each of life's situations.

Purpose is the Hebrew word chêphets, which means something pleasurable or of value. I take it to imply that God has so designed us to use each and every situation of our life to bring glory to His name. That is why the Apostle Paul could confidently say in Philippians 1:2 that for him to live was Christ and to die was gain.

When I read those words of Paul, I desire to have that Godly purpose in my life. I know that as each of us travels through the different seasons of our lives, it is possible to have meaningful PURPOSE in each of those situations.

What season of life are you experiencing right now? A more important question is whether or not you understand the Godly purpose for this current season of your life? If not, bow right now and seek His purpose for your season.

Blessings dear hearts. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing!
