“GIVING WITH LOVE!”
Luke 6:38
“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

In yesterday’s message I shared how our family gleaned onions that had been dumped in the sagebrush hills near our home. We became creative in how to use them, but more than that, we shared them freely with people around us.

During the night I recalled a little more of that time in my life. I remembered how people returned our generosity by sharing what they had with us. From their gardens came potatoes, corn, peas, beans and other produce. It became a time of bonding as each family learned to share with others.

I once served as Pastor in a small church. On Wednesday evenings we had a midweek service and someone suggested that we make it a “soup and bread a buck a head.” It became a wonderful time of gathering around the soup table and sharing God’s Word.

The more we give of ourselves to those around us, the more we will find ourselves on the receiving end of blessing. Stop for a moment and ask yourself how you are giving your love to those around you?
