“DO NOT LABOR IN VAIN!”
Isaiah 65:23
“They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble; for they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.”
Isaiah 65:23
“They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble; for they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.”
There is an old expression: “The hurrier I go the behinder I get.” It is bad grammar, but the adage has a ring of truthfulness to it. We often get in so much hurry that things go wrong, and that results in slowing us down.
Here in the U.S. we celebrate the first Monday in September as Labor Day. I overheard a conversation a few days ago where someone asked (in jest) if it was a holiday to honor expectant mothers. Actually, it was established to honor the workforce laborers of America.
When we labor for the Lord, we sometimes feel that we are not appreciated. Truthfully, I think that is the way it should be. If we labor to gain the approval of those around us, we are doing it for the wrong reason. Our labor must be for the Lord, whether others see it or not.
Why not make this a day to begin a secret labor for the Lord and Him alone? When we do that, we will find that our labor is not in vain.
May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
