Psalm 37:7
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”
There are people that seem to constantly be wringing their hands in frustration and dismay. Let’s face it - - they are fretters! Even though they may be told that their fretting will never resolve anything they continue to fret.
In today’s Scripture we see that fretting may occur when we see others succeed even when they operate in their own strength and reject the ways of God. They may even be wicked and sinful in their actions yet seem to prosper.
Any time we fret while seeing the ungodly prosper, we need to put on God’s eye glasses. By that I mean that we need to see things with eternity in view. This world is not the end of all things. As a matter of fact it is less than a vapor that passes away in a moment.
When we find the world crashing down around us it is time to be still and focus on the Lord. What is He doing to further His kingdom and glory through us? We may lack certain things in this world, but we have a home in glory that outshines the sun!
